My First White Christmas

Christmas Eve came with soft snowfall late in the day–so delicate, it was almost undetectable.

It persisted through the night and I woke to a magical landscape of sparkly white, lightly piled on every surface. Each tree limb, leaf and rock had a coating of fluffy ice.

It even clung in little clusters to one long spiderweb thread.

Come to find out, it’s the first official white Christmas for the Seattle area in nearly a decade (2008). It must be more than 2 inches to be officially deemed as a White Christmas.

What a wonderful Christmas gift. It reminds me of how truly, and magically, I am blessed.
