Poezy is a place for me to share my creative pursuits and extraordinary experiences. I create watercolors and illustrations, post about my home and garden in the Pacific Northwest, and record my travels.
I’ve always been creative–drawing, life drawing in particular, paper crafts, embroidery on paper, bookmaking, etc. At the beginning of 2020 I started playing with watercolor and now it is my primary creative focus. I’m still learning a great deal and will continue to do so for awhile. I’ve started pairing my watercolor with illustration lately and I’m enjoying the combination of those arts.
Regarding my travelog, every place I visit resonates in a unique, heart-warming way if I pay attention. Geography, weather, architecture, and of course people all make for dynamic and interesting experiences, but there’s something more elusive and personal that I experience when I travel. I endeavor to share those personal stories and perceptions that make travel so interesting to me. It might be the way the light plays across the surface of a pond on a misty day, an encounter with a critter, a lovely vista, or an interaction with friendly people. I might even highlight a shop or business if it has personal significance.
I grew up in California and now live in the Seattle, Washington area. I’ve been fortunate enough to indulge a creative and adventurous spirit and love to explore, learn, and try new things. I will continue to share as I explore new pursuits and experience new places. Hopefully, you’ll find something that resonates with you.
Thank you for sharing your precious time with me, and please share your thoughts–I’d love to hear from you.
