Beynac Castle, situated on a limestone cliff, towers over a village and the Dordogne River. The stunning view from the castle alone, is worth the visit. It overlooks the valley with the Dordogne River snaking through it. Though tiny in these photos, from the castle you can see Chateau des Milandes and Chateau de Castelnaud.
Constructed in the Middle Ages, it is one of the best preserved and well-known castles in the area.
Upon leaving the castle, I wound my way down through the village situated below, and ended where a heart-shaped tree stood. I fell in love with this tree!
