I created a pattern from the Eddies watercolor I recently made. I created 5 different colorways. It's quite different from the original painting--less dense--but it was much easier to create a seamless pattern in this style.

Something that intrigues me about abstract watercolors in particular is zooming in and getting a very different feel from just a portion of the painting. I’ve added some examples here. Departing from my normal track for some variety.

Dunes--a new pattern series based on one of my sea lion watercolors. A subtle, yet graphic seamless pattern in watercolor and ink, digitally finished in five colorways—cream, sable, violet, green, and aqua.

I completed the Eddies watercolor and I’ll be exploring making a pattern out of it. I’ll keep you posted.

Working on a new pattern. I’m thinking of it as eddies in water.

What do you think? I made this new watercolor version of my Poezy logo with the abstract seashell design. Do you like it better than my original logo? It's just a first try and there's certainly room for refinement, but I like it's soft, organic quality.

Seashell cluster watercolor--this is a lot of fun to do, playing with pretty little seashell and foliage shapes and lovely colors :-)

Part of the Sea Lion series, this one with more vibrant colors—watercolor with custom-mixed inks
