Sarlat la Caneda, often referred to just as Sarlat, is the largest town near Saint Cyprien. It has a medeival section and a nice Wednesday market. The day was rainy and the market was packed with shoppers.
Cathédrale Saint Sacerdos is a Roman Catholic cathedral with a dominating presence in the town.
I believe this old building was a church. It has since been reformatted to house an indoor market with a handful of stalls and massive doors to shut the place up in off hours. I’ve never seen anything like it.
Theres a 12th century natural fountain, Fontaine Sainte Marie, which hides in the labyrinth of the town streets.
I continue to be amused by the mix of old and new in Europe, especially when there is such a stark contrast as in Medeival towns that still flourish today.
