The Great Plains stretch north to south in a wide band across the Unites States, from Montana into Texas. Through most of Nebraska and Western Wyoming, we drove through this wide expanse of land interspersed with fields and farms.
On the Plains, we could see far off into the distance, in all directions, from the Interstate. As we drove across Nebraska, we enjoyed sunny weather, yet at one point we were bathed in rain. We could see the gathering rain clouds long before we reach them, the dark clouds forming ahead of us. We entered the gloomy cover and sprinkling of rain, then just as quickly, emerged into sunlight. The following photos were all taken in a matter of minutes. Getting this type of a preview is not something I generally experience in the San Francisco Bay Area, except through weather reports (which are typically not as accurate).
